Well, I´ll just start out by saying
that this week was awesome! New Years was good and we had so much food
it was ridiculous! And tons of fireworks, but that´s pretty much it.
So spiritual story. We were searching a couple of references on Saturday (we had 11 referrals this week!!!). So we went to this house to search out this family that the missionaries were teaching about 6 months ago or so and we found the dad. Talked to him for awhile before he flat out rejected us. ¨It´s not because we don´t want it, it´s because we don´t have time.¨ Yup, typical rejection. So then we left and went about 4 or 5 houses down the street and paused for a sec to call one of the other references we had. They didn´t answer, but a little 10 year old boy who was at the house we were just at came running up to us. ¨Hey! My dad sent me to tell you that he wants to talk with you!¨ So we were kinda surprised at that. Then we went back with him to his house where we just got rejected and found his dad inside. Then we taught him and he invited us back. In the beginning of the lesson he said that he knew that we had a mission and the second we left he felt bad and starting thinking. He asked forgiveness and told us that he knew who we were and he just couldn´t reject us like he had already done. So we taught him and he invited us back for the next day to teach his entire family instead of just him and his 10 year old son. So we went back yesterday. 12 people. there´s 12 people in his family and we taught 11 of them yesterday! And they are golden! They were asking about baptism and all of the teenagers (it´s basically a huge family of teenagers) all had questions too because they´ve never gone to church in their life (almost all of them) and we taught them about the importance of families and such because their grandpa passed away in June and then in the end of everything they brought up baptism and we explained a bit about that and every one of them accepted baptismal invitations in the end! And they asked us if the members could come to visit them too and seriously, they´re getting baptized.
And we also found 2 other families of 4 that have been impossible to teach before and so we´re excited about that too. It was such a great week and we got to teach more than we´ve been able to my entire time here in the offices and everything just worked out so well!
Well that´s about it. Good luck starting school again haha! Enjoy the cold while it lasts because I´m dying in the heat and there hasn´t been any of the typical Santa Cruz wind for the past couple days so it´s been extremely hot and humid.
....but there´s air conditioning in the offices..... cough cough. Haha que les vaya bien! [Haha, well then!]
